The Museum of Prehistory of Île-de-France, designed by the architect Roland Simounet, is located in the heart of a picturesque forest that is home to several prehistoric sites. It retraces the major stages of Prehistory and Protohistory in the whole of the Île-de-France region, from the first remains attesting to the presence of Man (around 600,000 years ago) to the end of the Gallic period.

The museum regularly holds temporary exhibitions and events.
